How to keep your toes dry while showering after nail surgery.

Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions!

Q: How long do I need to keep my toes dry for following ingrown toenail nail surgery?

A: It’s only the period between the nail surgery and the 1st redress (~3 days) that you’ll need to keep the dressing dry. We will show you how to keep the toe/s dry while showering. After the 1st redress you should be able to begin your own daily redressing with a simple Band-Aid type dressing (provided). You can get these wet in the shower and apply a new dry one straight after.

Q: How do I keep my toes dry while having a shower?

A: Often plastic bags taped around the foot and ankle don't work well; any small gap in an attempted seal, and the bag will fill with water. We find the best solution is to use hand gloves to protect the toes. We will show you how to use them following the procedure (and provide you with the gloves).
